📋 Visa Classification for Armenian Nationals
⚠️ Prior Visa Required for Colombia
Nationals of Armenia must obtain a Colombian visa before travel. Armenia is not listed under Lista A (visa-free) or Lista B (conditional entry) of Resolución 5488 de 2022. A prior visa must be secured from a Colombian embassy or consulate before departure. Classification per Resolución 5488 de 2022.
Armenia is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, which affects how official Armenian documents must be legalized for use in Colombia. See Section 9 for the full legalization procedure.

💼 Tax Considerations: No CDI Agreement
Colombia and Armenia do not have a Double Taxation Convention (CDI). This means that income earned by Armenian nationals who become tax residents in Colombia (after 183 days of continuous or discontinuous presence within a 365-day period) may be taxed in both countries under each country's domestic tax laws. Colombia taxes residents on worldwide income, while Armenia taxes residents on Armenia-sourced income as well as worldwide income for tax residents.

📄 Document Legalization — Armenia Is Not a Hague Member
Armenia has not acceded to the Hague Apostille Convention. Therefore, Armenian official documents (birth certificates, diplomas, police clearances, marriage certificates) cannot be apostilled for use in Colombia. The full legalization chain must be followed:
The document must first be certified by a licensed Armenian notary public or the competent issuing authority (e.g., civil registry, university, police).
The notarized document must then be authenticated by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Yerevan, which certifies the signature and seal of the notary.
The MFA-authenticated document must be legalized (consularized) by the Colombian Embassy in Moscow or Vienna, the nearest accredited missions for Armenia.
All documents in Armenian or Russian must be officially translated into Spanish by a certified sworn translator (Traductor Oficial) recognized by Colombia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
