Tax Obligations: Egypt and Colombia

In Egypt, the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA — مصلحة الضرائب المصرية) applies progressive income tax rates up to 27.5% on Egypt-source income. Egyptian tax residents pay on worldwide income; non-residents pay only on Egyptian-source income. When you relocate to Colombia and spend 183 days or more in the country in a calendar year, Colombia's DIAN (Dirección de Impuestos y Aduanas Nacionales) will consider you a Colombian tax resident, subjecting your worldwide income to Colombian income tax (rates up to 39%). 4. Authentication by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt (وزارة الخارجية) then authenticates the Ministry of Justice stamp, confirming the document's validity at the national level.
5. Authentication by the Colombian Embassy/Consulate in Cairo + certified Arabic-to-Spanish translation — The final step is authentication by the Colombian Embassy or Consulate in Cairo. Simultaneously, a certified translator must produce a sworn Arabic-to-Spanish translation of the document. Both the authenticated original and the certified translation must be submitted to Migración Colombia.
